For home use? M-audio Fast Track Pro into a way old copy of Garageband.

For full-band use? API lunchbox w/various preamps (Great River & Atlas Juggernaut at the moment) into overclocked MOTU 896 into Digital Performer 6.0 (or maybe we've upgraded to 7 by now - I can't keep up). I can't take credit for this setup, though - it's all my crazy gearhead bandmate's.

Recording out on my amp > line in on the MB > Audacity

Works fine for me. I have noticed that some fuzzy tones sound better in real life than the speaker sim of my amp's. I guess I'll have to upgrade to microphones some day... With the band we use a Zoom portable thing, which is also enough.

I run everything into a behringer xenyx mixer, then into a edirol ua-1ex usb interface, then record with reaper.

Everything into a Behringer mixer, then out the Tape Out into the 1/8" audio in jack of my MacBook into Garage Band. Nothing fancy shmancy by any means.

Record guitar with Bogner Duende line out and a shure ksm27 microphone to pick up the more warmer tones, then blend both signals in Cubase via Firebox (firewire) soundcard.

Also forgot to add, I use the FMR Really Nice Preamp.

I use KOSS Titanium series headphones for mixing..but I'm starting to think they aren't accurate enough...any advice? :idk:

I am really interested in picking up that M-audio fast track, even my girlfriend has suggested that I get something in at least the 200 dollar range.

How easy is it too use and pick up ?
