Weird sputtering sound from TAFM

I'm not sure what I did, but I'm getting this weird sputtering sound every time I turn on my TAFM. It sounds like it may be self-oscillating, but I didn't think it could do that. Anyone have this problem?

what settings are you using? there's a lot of amplification going on and at the highest settings there is some sputtery mild self-oscillation going on - though not much more than any other high gain pedal at it's wilder settings. i just messed around with a big muff and it had a similar sound happening from mid to high sustain settings. if you're on a low gain setting and that's happening, then that's not right.
what power supply are you using, just to get that out of the way...

I'm using a One-Spot. The gain setting was high (in was maxed out, fuzz at like four or five o'clock). I unplugged the power and turned it on later and it wasn't doing it, so I guess its not something to worry about.

great!
might have been a wonky cable or something like that?
also, yeah your gain was almost totally maxed out so there will be a bit of noise, etc. like most high gainers since you're amplifying any noise from your instrument along with the notes.
if it happens again or you feel like something weird is going on, don't hesitate to email me (
