OK,so after posting in the minimalism thread,I realized that maybe a gigantic fuzz is in order. MUST HAVE BATTERY CLIP. Reason being: I wll be recording on the move.
Now there's the Great Wall,Noisemaker effects Mother Russia,Z Vex Woolly Mammoth, etc. But I'm sure there are others I'm missing. What muff-style pedals are you guys using? Need more volume than a standard Big Muff(although a green Russian BMP has been taken into consideration). Suggest me something!

Get the Noisemaker Mother Russia. They're really cheap and sound really good.

catalinbread has a new fuzz thats not out yet, sounds awesome in the demos. check that out. best way to get a bassy fuzz is to go after octave down fuzzes. the new infanems were SOLD in like an hour. you could try the infanem myspace page and order direct or just bug tom at fuzzhugger

Dwarfcraft Shiva.

What didn't you like about the Soda Meiser? In my mind that qualifies as thick, huge, bassy and ballsy... The nice thing about muffs is that you can throw a booster in front of them to really thicken it up. I fondly recall my EP Booster smacking the shit out of my muff to get a super thick sound...

If you bypass the tone knob in a muff it gives it a 6db boost and you get more mids. And you can switch between the stock version and the tone bypass using a DPDT switch,

Not sure if anyone else would agree, but I found the 3 knob Hoof TOO bassy for my setup. Though I bet it'd be IMMENSE with a 4 x12.

I'd really consider a Fix'd fuzz. Such a flexible fuzz that can sound HUGE.

Or for simplicity sake, just get a good germanium fuzz. The clean up extremely well, and depending on who makes it can sound HUGE!

Great Wall sounds pretty...great. Also, the DE Bit is mighty huge, and TGD also was a huge wall of fuzz for me.

TGD and TAFM sounded massive through everything I stuck them in front of. Not really muff style fuzz, but massive and bassalicious nonetheless.

After having a TAFM here for a couple of days, I'd definitely agree with it. Nice thing is that unlike a lot of thick, bassy fuzzes, it doesn't get boomy and undefined.
