I'm inclined to agree with you... not sure if it will ever happen again, though.

I guess its because i got into them during the rated r days but man the 2000-2001 line up was THE BEST. Gene is such a better fit for QOTSA on drums. and Brendon is sick as fuck on that lap steel.
That line up you posted is indeed way better than the 2005 - present day line up.

I'd love for more Lanegan
I really missed him on the last two albums, he has such a great voice for QOTSA. Since Oliveiri will more than likely never come back, maybe Scott Reeder would join?

Troy on second guitar/lap steele is one of the real highlights of this line-up

i have this man crush on him
Joey on drums seems to me like the best choice because he is so... uncontrollable

QOTSA with him just always seemed more raw to me than with anyone else (of course... Dave Grohl did an amazing work on SFTD, but i'm talking about live situation)
and Olivieri is the same... this line up just seems as a dangerous balls to the wall rock group
different people - different taste

i just can't change my feelings

mutmoo: yeah, this sucks! He was an awesome addition!

Songs for the deaf is the best album.
Followed by the self titled.

All the lineups are beautiful, in my opinion. I really love each generation of the band.

I'm excited to not have to pay 60 bucks for a used CD now!
