To Bassman or not to bassman?

I am in the lotus position.
Thinking.
I went to go get new knobs for my fretless and was browsing like I normally do.
Of course I asked to play the Fender Bassman 100, fresh tubs and around 600 bucks.
Sounded like heaven.
I have it on hold but I am having second thoughts about buying it.
Should I or should I not pull the trigger?

With a cab or in 4x10 combo form, sure, but 6 bills for a Bassman 100 head is a pass in my book.

Great amp, but you can get it with the original cab off ebay for that. The heads usually go between 300 and 500. Anything above that usually includes the cab.

My ignorance shows.
But I guess I should know better. 100 Watt Ampeg Bass amps (V4's) don't sell for 6oo clams either.

No worries wick, I was in the same boat too. There is a reason why I made a post here first before walking out of the store with the head in hand. I was in fantastic shape and GAS is coming out of every pour of my body at the moment.
But I sat myself down and made sure to ask =D

The only one I've ever bought was for a friend, and it was $650 with a 4x12 pyramid cab SHIPPED FROM PENNSYLVANIA TO TEXAS.
