So, why don't we make an amp modeller that will model amps you already have?

I can see the usefulness of it. Dude wants to do a session and bring 50 different amps, can't, brings this box instead. Boutique Line 6? :poke:

I still think amp modeling is  though. Half the fun of a giant wall o' amps is the giant wall. Of amps.

I don't know why I feel the need to apologize for the bad English of this guy...
:picard:

The real problem seems to me that this guy is not a guitarist and that he has some terrible taste when it comes to design.
And he obviously did not know which knob does what!

I guess the important part came late when most of the audiance was already put to sleep...it doesn't need to be your amp.

Order whatever amp you like, set it up for the profiling and send it back to the dealer. You're allowed to do this within 14 days after receiving it in Germany...

With this method you can profile a whole lot of boutique amps within a short piece of time.

But how does it react to touch and playing sensitivity?
Is the profiled tone able to work with the volume and tone pot of your guitar? :idk:
And why does the prototyp looks like a cheap DJ tool on steroids?

Questions over questions.

Germany is still the world leader when it comes to new patents every year but some of these better never see the light of day.

it doesn't make too much sense to me

1) if it is taking measurement from the mic, the EQ/tone will be based on the mic and the mic preamp, which varies A LOT from mic to mic alone.
2) if the measurement was done with a hi gain pickup, what do you think the so called "profile" will react with a lower output pickup?
3) Tube Saturation, one measure and you get the behavior of all my amp tubes?? I doubt it. This is still the biggest glitch that why amp sim is not doing it for ALL players. i guess all ILFers would have good understanding of Tube Saturation. Company like Line6 has been doing a lot of researches to work on the Tube Saturation thing (which they claimed they have it pretty close on the new HD line). :idk:
4) etc, etc.

it is good someone is trying, kudo to the German dude.

I couldn't understand what was going on. I was too focused on the fact that they made no effort to hide his speaking mic and attached it to his titty.

How to sell your new guitar product:

Step 1: If you made the product and you don't play guitar, don't tell anyone.

... :whateva: I'd like to see a studio modeller of equal size so I could take it to shows and make instant high quality recordings.

2 very good points.

if it works well, it's an awesome idea. big "if" though.
i'd love to go to my buds studio and take every amp i owned along with my tele and whatever pedals.
however.....modeling leaves me feeling cold and hungry.

Well he obviously followed step 1 pretty well, because I didn't know this and have Two Fenders.

Pirating amp tonez?!?!? Bloody brilliant! Could you imagine walking into some boutique amp shop and being all "hey you don't mind if I mess around with these $4,000 amps do you? Oh, this thing? It's just my pace-maker. Don't worry about it. Oh, and do you a Royer 121, and some Neumann mics I could borrow too? Kthanks."

With that being said, I would never spend money on something like this. How much are these going for? I bet a butt load of money... and they're going to make you do all the hard work getting "profiles"... which will never sound very good, because you would have to be a stinkin audio engineer with good mics, and great micing technique for it to not sound like a turd. At least with something like an AxeFx, you know what you're getting.
