anyone on here who likes classical music? i love it. i find it relaxing and a lot of it to be very inspirational when it comes to me writing music in general. i tend to try different things on guitar after having listened to a classical piano piece as opposed to just using the normal chords i seemingly always tend to use. anyways, i tend to listen to more piano music, and my favorite composer is Chopin, but i've been into alot of Rachmaninoff lately. anyone else on here like classical music, or am i just strange?

I've always liked The Planets by Holst. Been listening to Night on Bald Mountain recently too.
Classical is cool beans, man.

I like classical music. I've been playing cello since 3rd grade. I've always loved Bach's Bourée in E Minor and Grieg's In The Hall of the Mountain King.

Most of the music I perform (actually just about all of it) is classical, so uh, yeah, I like it

I also love Chopin; I'd give both my nuts to have written just one of his preludes. My favorite classical music is probably the mid and late Renaissance stuff though: Josquin des Prez, Palestrina, William Byrd, Thomas Tallis, Victoria, etc...

if Stockhausen is your cup of tea, check out Krzysztof Penderecki
this is kinda 20th Century Classical
plus, it's kinda "droney", i guess some of our ILFers have heard this piece already

I took piano for 9 years and in that time developed a fondness for Bach pieces. I like Phillip Glass and Bela Bartok quite a bit. Tchaikovsky too. Marche Slave (The Slavonic March in B-flat minor, Op. 31) is so great.

I like the 6 Cello Suites by Bach and when I was playing piano my favorite song to play was the Preludium in C Maj (bwv 846 for some reason it's also referred to as Prelude in C Maj). I'm pretty sure it comes from the Well Tempered Clavier,...but I didn't know that at the time.

I never stuck with it to advance past a level that could play the above piece on piano.

I like certain kinds of it, yeah. stuff like Vivaldi, Carmina Burana, Philip Glass and Arvo Part. What I don't like is classical songs that start the same way they finish. They just sound like technical shows with no soul. The big names, althogu hhave made some good stuff, are guilty of this. Those songs that have all those "fake endings", you know where there's a string of notes that sound like the song is finished every 20 seconds? God that's annoying.
If it has a clavichord in it, then 99% chance I don't like it.
