Algal Bloom or Tone Reaper

So I've been trying out lots of fuzz since joining ILF and the next one up is the Algal Bloom. However I just saw some vids of the EQD tone reaper that are awesome. Does the Algal Bloom cover that territory, or will I have to suck it up and buy a tone reaper too?

Your going to have to try both, the AB is more of mid range fuzz while the tone reaper has a very specific sound.
Trust me I have been eye balling them both VERY HARD.

I have a hoof that really covers the woof and low end very well, but I noticed the tone reaper really rips and sounds like it could cut through a mix , so I'm wondering if the AB can do that? I've heard everything from "the AB is a great everything fuzz" to "the AB is good for rhythm."

The guy who said the AB is a rhythm fuzz is wrong but that's beside the case.
Both the AB and the Tone Reaper will cut through a mix fine. Only muff clones and a small amount of selected fuzzes I have found have trouble with that the question is what tone are you looking for. Both are great fuzzes but the sound differs between the two.
Whatever floats your boat really

AB is really flexible! I enjoyed the one I had, except I thought it cut the bass a bit.

It does a good low gain sound.
Tone reaper is just a thick classic fuzz sound. Id really like to try one.
