The only answer you need is "Yes, you should buy one."

Dont think it.

aah, thanks, guys, you're the best evuuur

nah, seriously... i've got a chance to score one including a preset footswitch and expression pedal for SILLY low price... SERIOUSLY SILLY...
think... BEST DEAL IN THE WORLD silly :) i've got some money for hristmas, i've been working two part time jobs and i've been trying to raise some money for my university studies (you know... helping my parents a bit), but a) i want it, b) for this price i can sell it probably any time and c) there's a 90% chance i'll be working for almost whole summer holidays in scotland and i shall get back covered in gold... so why not?
the seller is a friend of mine... he bought it also for SILLLYYYYYY price and haven't been able to bond with it... well... i kinda talked him to lending it to me for a while for figuring out whether i want it or not. Tomorrow evening, i'll have it here

there's just this problem - it'll have to be outside my pedalboard, because the shit is so huge there's no chance putting it on, so...

1) Where should i put it regarding the effects order? And i'm more concerned with tracking than anything else ;) Would it be problem if i put it after my last OD and before my amp? (that means before delays and tremolo in the effects loop)... i'd put in the beginning, but there should be TGD since it is said to dislike non-TB effects in front of it and HOG has - AFAIK - buffered bypass

2) So how's this thing? :)

3) I have a broad musical taste, i like experimenting... I'm not sure how to describe my style... But i'm currently playing lead guitar in a prog/experimental/funked up-rock band but that's the part i'm afraid of - i know i could use it at home, but as silly low as the price is, it's still too high to have a HOG for bedroom playing... were you able to use it live?
Also... i'm not experimenting like... i'm not alternative enough, i don't come with life changing riffs and ideas... but i like to put a twist on say "standartish" motifs... adding interesting textures behind them, you know...

4) If i buy it, i should probably stop visiting this site cause i don't think i should spend any more money next eear after i buy this  this is not a question... it's a FACT

Joining ILF is without a doubt, the worst financial decision I've ever made. :animal:

+1

While the POG2 may have the better tracking in some respects, the HOG is the golden goose in the whole Electro Harmonix line in my opinion. It has so many neat features and options that if your getting it for under 300.00 USD it is silly not to buy it. Even to just have it in your set up and mess around with it there are so many things you can do with with and flipping it for something else would be easy to do.

Without reading the thread
1) Yes, you want it.
2) You also want the extra footswitch.
3) You also want an expression pedal, if yours doesn't come with it (they come with one new).
4) It's not true bypass, so you might not like it before some fuzz pedals. It uses a really good buffer, though.
