Tascam US 100

I used to lie and say I knew about recording but in the truth of the matter I have little or no skill in it. It has been years since I was in a recording studio but the drive for me to be a better musician has never been higher. ( and I lie a lot less about my actual skills, go figure! )
After failing to give you guys a decent recording of my Creel TRM1, I need something to start recording not only demos but my ideas, and try to write my own music

This looks not only to be cheep but good. Anyone have any experience with the US 100 ? I need to start of slow, my ex's father ran a theater and gave me an M - Box v1. While it was good I had the faintest clue on how too use it too its fullest potential.
I am not looking to spend a lot, as that it will take away from future pedals and an larger practice amp ( maybe a Orange AD 200 mk 3 fund, who knows) but if you have something better please let me know.
