I have some really old solder that smells awesome when you melt it. MG Chimicals lead free solder smells kinda... fruity. Their leaded stuff smells basically the same, but not as strong.

I kinda enjoy solder fumes, but I know they'll kill me over time. : (

There's nothing particularly harmful about solder fumes... well actually, unleaded solder isn't so good for you as leaded (Go Figure) but generally it's a mild irritant at best.

Beats smoking! But smoking and soldering both at once is even better.

I do... but I don't think i'm a rockstar... but I have the lung and liver damage atleast! Now I just need the Fame & Money to complete the set.

It might not really cause serious medical issues, but once I started soldering daily, I was getting really severe headaches. They stopped when I got a fume extractor.

That is something that happens, However I think it may be more like Asthma, effects some, not others, but isn't an Actual Health Hazard, just unpleasent.

Try Leaded though, you'll get less crap in the fumes, might help.

i get a good portion of my parts from Small Bear (def pots) but the more you use them the more you find they have a mix of quality with crap.... pee pee solder does NOT sound like my kind of solder at all.....

i do notice when i blow my nose after a long soldering session i make fuzz factory tones....

seriously i started running to stay in shape and found my lungs were really hurting.... since then i've exercise a lot and whenever i do a weekend of soldering i can feel a noticeable difference.... so it's NOT something to take lightly.... in my opinion... which i'm full of....

sun chips are bogus, as good as they are i refuse to eat them because i remember when they first came out they were a "healthy alternative" to other chips... and they're WORSE!! i also prefer classic nacho cheese doritos....

I used no-clean solder from mg forever and that stuff is really noxious, I recently switched to this generic 60 40 sn-pb solder I got a pound of at my local electronics store. it's rosin core and it smells like pine cones. I love it. it flows really well too allthough it does spit out little clear bits of rosin all over my desk. I read somewhere that you aren't supposed to use rosin core for electrical but the store reccommended it and a few dudes on another forum said they used it.

1n400x diodes always smell weird to me they have this waxy coating on the leads.
