i've got one for sale if your interested in checking one out. i've never played with a meatball though.

I made a few ridiculous sounds with it but haven't been able to give it the workover it deserves. The fx loop is sweet though. I put 3 delays in there and a phaser.

i owned a big box q-tron (without the +) and currently own a meatball. for the classic 70s funky mu-tron sound the q-tron is THE pedal to get. nothing comes close except an actual mu-tron III. not even the meatball. but the meatball is far more flexible than the tron, especially when it comes to weird and wonderful filter sweeps and effects and it's more fun overall.

I have a big Q+. It's a staple of my sound and I almost always have it on. I've never played a meatball but they intrigue me. I always used a Boss FT2 Dynamic filter but the QTron knocked it off my board. I'd buy one every year if I had to. It plays so well with my Fuzzhuggers, especially the Phantom Octave (Q+ activated at 1:20). [soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/sim-tut/pogi100ampsimoff[/soundcloud] The best things I ever put in the fx loop were a Graphic Fuzz and Behringer Time Machine (Memory Man clone) but didn't like dedicating a pedal to the loop. Instead, I have my much-discussed (by me) DD5 delay before it, with the main out into the Q's main input, and the panning out into the fx return. This way I get a typical delay or a filtered delay depending if its on or off.

Yeah from what I've seen demowise the gyroscope is awesome! I also have a Boss FT-2 the only thing that bugs me is how the sweep gets effected by fuzz or distortion.

I had a big box Q-tron... twice  (Hello, I am a B/S/T addict.)

I used to use it for drones with an overdrive->Q-tron->Delay. Ala in the background of this: http://soundcloud.com/admiralapricot/da ... ney-spider It helped create the most spontaneous drone/feedback I've made so far.

I also used it as an EQ pedal to create some AM radio sounds and what not. Fun stuff. :joy:

I've actually used 2 big box Q trons( one with the filter sweep rising, the other falling via Up/down directional switch),a Muff in front, and a Blue Box behind them. The end result was a thing of beauty.
