The case for strap locks and right angle cables

One of my regular customers got a new Firebird a couple weeks ago. At Saturday's gig, his guitar came off the strap and hit the floor face down. He was using an uber beefy Monster straight cable and it pushed the input jack and surrounding wood right through the front of the guitar and out the control cavity on the back.

Seriously, ouch. Personally don't use strap locks, cause I don't use a strap...but right angle cables are a must for the guitar.

Do you play upright? Like, how do you not use a strap?

It's got a recessed jack so the angle on the jack presses against the body and they pop out too easily.

Ahhh, one of those nicer tele's. Forgot some had the recessed jacks like on cabs. At least it's on the side and not the front!

Nah, one of those cheapy Squiers actually! Yeah there's nothing wrong with it, just wrap the lead round my Strap Locks before it goes to the amp.

Strap locks are for pussies. Wood screw + Washer FTW.
