Quick question cloudscapes me boy: does your profession have anything to do with electronics or programing? I'm just wondering if you got into this as a hobby/interest, or already had a base of knowledge to build on.

I may build a few of these but not soon. and only after a redesign. consider this a prototype with enough inherent flaws to need one. I cannot sell it as-is.

none at all (my job is computer art. photoshop, 3ds max, that sort of stuff).

I did have a sort of base, though. I had a bunch of those 100-in-one kits as a kid. you know, with the little springs. make siren, annoy neighbors, etc. learning basic computer programming was also part of highschool computer science, and I did some of that in my spare time around then too.

fast forward 10 years of nothing in relation, then I picked it up again like 4 years ago as pedal modding. modding led to existing diy designs off of schematics onto breadboard (no kits). simple noise generators and synths too. not just effects, and that was important. breadboards lead to experimentation and easy swapping. easy swapping led to "modular" circuits. combining shit and making it do things differently. combining synth stuff with effect stuff (like FLOs, ADSRs, FM, AM). modular designs led to starting from scratch. crazy ideas led to digging up past programming knowledge, learning how to apply that to microcontrollers (it's like a CPU) and how to get even more out of circuits that way.

I think also having a penchant for knob-twiddling, the noise/drone/ambient scene and improv also helped it getting crazy ideas. fuck 2 knob overdrives!

wowzer. as is that's a really impressive home creation, with which i could happily disappear up my own ass for six or eight months. with some refinement it could be a truly incredible dub-mangler in a box. i can hardly wait to see what v.2 sounds like.
