sooo ive always though about this and after owning a bunch more delays since i owned a memory man about 2 years ago or somethin
ive always be curious as to what makes the memory mans oscillations so special
no other pedals oscillations ive tried sounded nowhere like the memory mans
they all seem to get super ear piercing super fast and stay ear bleeding and never hold
rather the memory mans sound super thick never get nasty and ratty and sound more like an overdriven fuzzy dying computer and hold really well
chips?
maybe certain circuit elements
discuss im am of curiousness

The self-oscillation on analog EHX pedals rules so hard. I have culturejam's old Polychorus and I was having a blast today with the crazy laser noises.

Dude I've pondered & pondered this.
It all goes back to those damn gnomes.

He's right, EHX actually have a stock of NOS 70s Gnomes that were designed by Howard Davis in his research lab and are shrunk down and injected deep into the LFO of the pedal that are particularly good at Oscillation, they also collect underpants.
Sadly stock has run low on these gnomes though and the Modern 'Memory' delays only have lesser gnomes that were the mistakes left over from Howards experiments... they are not a pretty sight.
...it's just a well designed pedal with control over the feedback, there's a trim pot to limit it from just running away into self oscillation... good companding and well set up bias with a sprinkling of the right values also go on to help the overall sound of the DMM...

It definitely sounds delicious. More appetizing than any other delay freakouts.

Tuffteef is better than memory man oscillations.
