I don't know shit about all the cool fuzz pedals.

I'm looking for a fuzz with a lot of clarity for chords that can go from pretty clean to pretty ridiculous. I like weird sounds but not so weird that it's unusable if that makes any sense. I'm a little more on the psycadelic side and less on the metal side.

Ideally I don't want to spend that much money but if you bring something up that totally blows my mind I might be down.

I have a Fuzz Factory and a Russian Big Muff (the newer black kind).

It's just that I'm starting to get into pedals and I figured you guys could help me find a pretty badass pedal.

You're definately in the right place for this sort of advice. But I'm not actually going to give you any suggestions. If you've got a music shop near you with a decent selection of pedals, the best thing to do is go spend an hour or two trying every fuzz pedal they have in stock. Failing that, check out demos of all the fuzzes that you're remotely interested in. Descriptions and recommendations will never hold a candle to hearing a pedal yourself and judging it based on your own taste.

Just to make this like every other pedal suggestion thread...

Go check out a demo for the Algal Bloom.
It was my 2nd fuzz pedal and it is not leaving. Great clarity, can be dialed in to a light OD, can be pushed to splattery fuzz, that simple.

Team. Awesome. Fuzz. Machine.

Lots of sounds/controls/trimpots. Cleanish blend for über clarity times.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...if you don't think it's the best thing ever, you're a dick. In addition, fuck you.

Like Colin I would advise you to try out a bunch of pedals and tell us what you liked/disliked about them.

From that we could give all sorts of cool suggestions. Not just that. If you get a clearer picture of what you want you could get a custom fuzz which suits all your fuzzy needs.

dont try out a bunch of pedals.
just get an AB-Synth.
not only is it all you need, its a pedal taht will grow with you :D

I've actually already watched a bunch of demos on the Algal Bloom and AB-synth. I thought both were sweet and I almost bought an Algal Bloom.

I drank some absynth once and after I was done gagging like a bitch I was like awwwhhhh yeeeuhhhhh. I guess the pedal is probably the same way but with no gagging. Seriously though I hate absynth and jäger they taste disgusting.

I'll check out the freq LSD. It probably rocks with a name like freq LSD...

Also no stores around me carry good fuzz pedals. One shop has some sweet Moog stuff but no fuzz other than like a Homebrew UFO or something.

For Clarity sake the two that have been mentioned both the Algal Bloom and TAFM are well worth the money and can do pretty much what you are asking for.

I am on the hunt for such a pedal myself that is going to be friends with my Dwarfcraft ECT the Algal bloom is high on my list.

I do dig the Algal Bloom. Great sounding piece of gear, lots of tonez. Also, I gotta pimp the Wrong Side of Uranus. Put a boost in front of it, turn up the resolution, and you get some awesome chord-friendly sounds.
