NGD Fail - Send it back?

So I ordered an Epi Sheraton II off Ebay a week or two ago, supposedly a B-stock in Natural. Arrived today, and it's an Ebony. No cosmetic flaws though, practically new with all the case inserts and hangtags. Shipping here was US$150 and I had to pay all of it. The seller supposedly accepts returns though, but I'll probably have to pay for return shipping as well, in which case I will just keep it, because shipping was almost half the cost of the guitar. From what I've read off the Buyer Protection FAQ, it looks like I have to pay shipping if I want to return it, but since this is the fault of the seller, is it likely that I can get the seller to pay for shipping back and then the shipping costs to send me a new one? Is sending me the right color really so hard?
tl;dr: NGD - wrong finish, force seller to pay for shipping both ways to swap for color I ordered?

I'd tell them about the mixup, see how they respond. Then (if they haven't already offered), ask them to pay for the return shipping as it was their error.
Also, Lunar Module -> Formula 5 is bitchcoat.

^ This guy had tons of positive feedback, so I wouldn't have thought something as silly as this could happen. Guess I thought wrong though.

Dropped you a PM!
StopReferencing: Yup, done that. Hopefully they'll agree to cover return shipping, which should be the case since this was entirely their fault. Also bitchcoat is right! Loving the combo

How does it play and sound? I wouldn't be too too bothered if I got the wrong color if it was a nice axe. It took me 10 years to find my Dot.

^ It plays and sounds great, I'd be really happy with it if it came in the right finish. Just bothers me that I didn't get exactly what I paid for, although it isn't a huge issue!

Weeeeellllll.....i understand you are probably pissed about it but ill tell you that if you are happy with the way the one you have plays and sounds i would urge you to keep it. Ive played a couple of those wilshires at the guitar center and almost universally they sounded like shit and had some pretty ugly frets....

^ Totally get what you're saying, have played quite a number of lemons so the risk of getting one of them after returning one that turned out very decent is probably the biggest thing going for me keeping it. Thanks for the advice!

You could request a partial refund? Maybe see some $$$ out of it since you are kinda stuck with it
I had a guy send me the wrong wrong humbuckers in a guitar once, advertised duncan JB/Jazz but they were just some cheap duncan copies
Luckily he was local so I brought it back.
For my troubles he gave me a the guitar with the right specs AND in the super fancy $150 extra finish for no extra charge

Yeah, this is definitely worth considering. I bought a bass that came in the wrong finish once, and after everything got sorted out, I realized the wrong one felt way better.

I agree with everyone in saying just keep it and try to get some money back for your troubles. I think if you get a nice Epiphone over the internet, you should just stick with it... But I totally understand being bummed about getting the wrong color. At least your consolation will be leaving him negative feedback if he doesn't try to fix the situation.

Now I'm a bit biased because I've always wanted a black es-335 shaped guitar due to Billy C having one

, but I'd keep it and see if you can get money back for the trouble like others have said. If it plays well and feels good in your hands, no need to risk getting a different Epiphone that might not.

I agree with this 100% - with Epi's, it's luck of the draw. I've played Sheratons that feel like garbage, and ones that play amazingly. In my experience, there are more "duds" with Epiphone than good players. If you got a good player, I'd hold onto it, and try to get a partial refund.
Plus, black Sheratons are hot.
