Phaser after distortion, especially fuzz.
Intrestingly enough pedals go from right to left but effect eachother left to right. Time based effects such as phasers, flangers, and choruses have a blanketing effect on the rest of your pedals and should always go last in your chain; Unless your amp has a effects loop, then you would want ot put all of your modulation and time based effects (phaser, reverb, delay) in the loop and all of your other pedals (distortion, fuzz, compressor, wah) in the front of the amp. But like I said Phaser and other time based/oscillation or wave length effects go last, especiall delay.

Also what kind of Phaser do you have, I have a Phase 90.

Phaser after a cutting fuzz, before a heavy fuzz.

It's subjective! It sounds cool both ways IMHO.

After. I only use phase with dirt going into it for synthy sounds, phase on my clean sound inless extreme is almost inaudible inless I am playing solo...

Before, straight up
So much nicer when it's subtle and veiled behind fuzz

I do agree with the rule of time/modulation effects going last in the chain, however, being the effects glutton that I am, there is fuzz on either side of my phaser. There is something exciting sounding in that taboo arrangement.

As for distortion and/or OD I prefer before the phase and all the other time/modulation effects to follow the dirt.

After all dirt, before all modulation.
More intense, ribbed for her pleasure.

Depends on how you set the Phaser, I like both too, depends on what you like, it's a matter of taste, but the traditional way is after, but up front can give you some really nic tones too :hello:

Haven't owned a phaser ever, but used to use one by default after the fuzzes and the overdrives the MXR 100. Now I'd probably try it in between the stacked dirts for maximum chaos.
