Delay and reverb?

Sound good together? Was never able to bond with a delay until I got a skrecho and was wondering what kind of other things I could do with it. I though it might be cool to swim around in reverby delay trails, but do not know how this stuff works. Always been a dirt guy with maybe some trem or light phase. Looking for some ideas, thanks ahead of time.

I'm a fan. Delay into Reverb just creates a larger sonic space.

get another delay pedal, run pedal 2 into pedal 1, set them so that the delays/echos come out like this:
122212221222
run those guys into a reverb and turn the mix all the way up on your setting of preference

go for a swim

What kind of sound were you going for?

I have a chicklet first in my chain, then my dirt and modulation, then an echolution for crazy delay stuff and a PDS 1002 for normal delay and looping the noyz. Then my amp's reverb cranked. I can't actually play to save my life, but it makes for some nice swashes of sound.

Needless to say, delay and reverb sound tits together...

when you say delay+reverb, i think about Jakob... an AWESOME post-rock band :) their music makes me wander of my body even when i'm sober... and when i listened to them high... WHOA, that was some serious trip

anyway... they'er awesome :) and this track rocks... just listen to the fuzz bass kicking in later on...

i love delay and with reverb, it's just so much SPACE... i don't have reverb pedaly yet, but i can make an awesome ambient reverb with the EHX Memory man W/ Hazarai :thumb: combined with EQD Disaster Transport it's really deep

I always use reverb and delay together, I have the Electro Harmonix Nano Holy Grail, it's awesome as in it's EHX! If you are going to buy a reverb to use with delay you might aswell get a volume pedal, if you don't already have one, to swim with great ease in your new found sonic spacey glory!

That is the sound I am looking for. I feel like there is noise missing from the background of some of the songs I am writing and I have no idea how to make it. Once I got the Skrecho I finally had a clue. I think i am going to have to sell some stuff to get an RRR, but it'll probly be worth it. Also what is a good volume pedal, might as well give one of those a go too. Thanks for all the responses, it is very appreciated. :)

Here are a couple of jams using the RV-3 in delay+reverb mode. I'm also using another cool pedal, the Moody Sounds Mushroom Echo. It's a delay with a photo eye that makes the pitch wobble and bend.

+1

i use a boss dd-5 > homemade digital delay > boss rv-5
short > long > reverb

occasionally i add a homemade analog delay after the digital for short > long > short > reverb for super spacey space travels

Maybe with the new RRR, you could run a delay in the effects loop with an effects loop of its own with a reverb in it! :erm:

Amazing.
When I have one on, the other usually gets turned on just after.
