I love my concert bass, I use it for bass mostly (before I damaged it). If I was going to buy one today I might get the coliseum though. So I guess that doesn't help at all in making a decision.

Coliseum 300 is kinda bogus...now if he can find a regular Coliseum Lead then buy that shit in a heart beat

Yeah, the earlier coliseums totally rule. But, concert bass is what I'd go for. The coli 300 just looks kinda lame.

So he ended up finding a concert lead that he plans on playing bass through.
As well as a sunn 610 bass cab to match it.
And today we stopped by musicgoround to get rid of an old cab he doesn't use and found an HM-2 for $19. This thing has a rediculous amount of low end...his board makes it even worse, I'll get a picture of that up later.

The original Sunn Coliseum amps (the long skinny ones) are awesome and SUPER loud. I played bass in a band where the guitarists used 2 100W heads and 2 4x12's each, and I was easily the loudest thing in there when I had the volume at 3. Unfortunately, I blew the head once and it was never the same after I had it fixed, so I sold it. If you can find one of those, go for it!
The Sunn Concert Lead/Bass is also a nice choice, but depending on your band configuration it may not be loud enough for bass. It's plenty loud for guitar.
