Tomorrow is my birthday. Pick my new guitar.

Got tix to Roger Waters

...but more importantly I think I am going to sell one of my old axes and get myself a new guitar.
Epi Dot (or maybe the studio to save a few $$$)

Agile 2800 silverburst baritone

The agile isn't true baritone scale, though 27" is still better than standard gibson/fender scale.
The first thing I would to to either would be pickup/electronics upgrades.
Semi-hollows can be a pain in the ass to work with for gut upgrades, is this true of the dot?
Pretty different guitars I know, but that's how I roll.

Personally I want a semi-hollow so I feel like I should say that.
But I've only really liked a few dots that I've played.
I've actually enjoyed the ibanez more, if you haven't tried them out already.
...maybe I just had bad luck though.

Get the bari. I have a Dot, it's not that great.

Yes. Like most 335-inspired semis, any rewiring of the Dot for upgraded etc has to be done via the F-holes on the guitar. It's not impossible, but it is very fiddly to do.
I have a black epiphone dot, and I love it.

Yarr I'm worried about the hit-or-miss nature of dots...those agiles are supposed to be top notch (even for only $400

).
I've also been playing a lot of groovy/rhythmic detuned stuff lately (post-metal/metalgaze sounds silly

), so maybe a bari is the way to go

I personally still want a baritone when the money is there, so I would say: Pick a baritone!

Baritone is sick, silverburst not so much.

This. I'd get a semi-hollow Ibanez before an Epiphone (based on what I've owned and played).

Eh. Skip the dot. As others have said, Ibanez Semi-hollows are better. And cheaper, for the most part. I'm not a huge fan of Ibanez stuff in general, but their semi-hollows/hollow bodies can be quite nice, where Dots are generally garbage. I've never played a Dot that I really liked - Sheratons, yeah. Dots, no.
I'd skip the Agile, because their silverburst is hideous and I'm not convinced on their supposed quality. In my mind, they're basically Epi's with a "My guitar parents were cousins" Les Paul horn. I wouldn't be shocked if they were made side-by-side with Epi's, to be honest.
I really wish Ibanez would do a 25.5" semi-hollow. Preferably Starcaster shaped and with a trem. Oh yes.
So, yeah. Get an Ibanez.
Have you checked out the Fender Blacktops? I know - completely different, but they're damn good guitars. Not just "for the price" - but just fantastic in general. I'm actually considering a second Jazzmaster to throw a Phat Cat into, as well as one of the silver Jags.
They're about the same price as a Dot, maybe a bit less with some smooth talking. I got my Jazzmaster for $400 shipped without even trying.

I love my Dot, but it took 10 years to find it.
