I Dislike Pro Guitar Shop

Perhaps this is unncessary, and/or it's been said a million times already but
Fuck ProGuitarShop.
Every time I e-mail them about a pedal... a general question about it, if it's in stock, etc... my e-mails are either ignored or answered with some sort of snide, short bullshit reply, almost as if the writer assumes that I have absolutely no fucking clue what I'm talking about, or have just TODAY heard of an effect pedal.
I bought a Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop from them, but it was only because nobody else had one. Otherwise, I've purchased all of my effects from Tom, Tonefactor, Noisebug, Gear Gas Store, and Fat Tone Guitars. Perhaps it's just the way it worked out... but even when I first started to get into these pedals, it seemed to me like PGS was the Guitar Center of boutique effects. I appreciate their demos, but that's about it.
Again, it's probably all been said, and a lot of people may have had different experiences, and yeah, I'm just a faggot consumer, but welp... fuck 'em.
And
thank you to
Tom at Fuzzhugger (duh)
Brad at Tonefactor
Jason at Noisebug
Phil at Fat Tone
Ernie at Gear Gas Store
Always ALWAYS friendly, helpful, and wanting to see me actually enjoy the effects I buy. Thanks!
C
p.s. Yes, I work customer service, and often customer complaints are scoffed at or ignored, but again, this is just my opinion, here. You can do whatever you want!

I've heard this enough, so often in fact, that I want nothing to do with them.
On a related note, most of us are waiting to see what Tom will turn into, Devi, PGS or George Lucas. If you wanna place your bet feel free to email me, horse track wager rules apply

I usually envision Tom as a combination of these two gentlemen:

...working on an AB-Synth that oscillates according to the undulation of your brainwaves.

I have only had one experience with PGS and it was less than awesome.
Tonefactor, Fat Tone, Tunnel Vision, HugFuzzer, and several others were more than awesome.
It didn't entirely suck though, just wasn't extremely pleasant.
I mean not to say I wouldn't do it again, but I wouldn't not do it again I suppose.
Maybe.

i think i bought a timefactor from PGS like a year or two ago, i returned it for an echolution, and then returned that for a superdelay...they were pretty smooth with the whole thing so

they also had me in for like 4 bills so maybe thats why they were nice to me (and me asking for an exchange rather than a refund)
sorry u got shat on man. thats not cool. even if they only did it to one customer and were super nice to everyone else, still not cool (and it doesn't sound like this is the case).
don't forget Shawn over at analogue haven! great dude. very friendly and helpful.

I've actually bought stuff from them and never had a problem.
I've even e-mailed them about stuff and gotten well thought out responses in an hour or less than that.
Maybe they're horribly inconsistent.

I figured the responses might be 50/50. I didn't want to appear to be too bitchy or super-harsh, and I certainly didn't want to just post some kneejerk bullshit about some sort of unfriendly exchange, but compared to the other dealers and builders that I mentioned, who have responded to me in great detail far beyond what I may have expected or asked in the first place, the incredibly curt and toss-off responses I've gotten from PGS are pretty ridiculous. They haven't personally like offended me or something, but it's like... how much of a PRO do you have to be, here? Do you want me to buy a pedal? Should I first tell them my credentials or what?
Relationships between "customers" and any retail dealer of anything can be very touchy, but like I said, I work one of those jobs, and the kind of responses I get from the likes of Tom (especially... but he's THE DUDE) and Brad and Jason and those guys just make me want to encourage everyone on ILF and anyone else to be sure to contact them first about any purchases you want to make.
I got my Barbershop with no hassle, and I'm glad to see that their return policy has held up for some of you, and yes, Andy's demos are quite helpful. It's just... ^^^ Cah mahn.

That's why I've got my money on George Lucas...
What were the odds on that one again HT? 4:1?

In all honesty, I've only bought stuff on them when they were having sales.
I'm just trying to save some dough.
I also didn't know other places existed for a long time and they have a decently big selection.
However, their shipping is expensive!
It's like $30 to Canada! WHY!?!?

LOL at FPF^
I've only ordered from them once, and it was when the Disaster Transport was on sale. Had no problems, though I wouldn't expect to with something so basic. I would order from them again if they had something I wanted
