Umm...
loud buzzing + no signal going through = ?

there's no solder bridges. and the little cutout on the IC mount is on the right and the words are rightside up on the chip.

wai u no werk snowlflake? :idk:

futuresailors wrote:I tested the continuity and it's alright, the only thing I can think of that might be fuckin me is I'm lazy and decided to try soldering the legs from both LEDs and the resistor together instead of a wire from the resistor to each LED. That a nono? :idk:

I do that all the time. Nothing wrong with it.

Link up the schematic or project info and also post a gut shot. We'll figure it out. :)

Wooo! I'm not as dumb as I thought! Or maybe dumber...
but it's a GGG kit...http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf ... a841b3e85a

Shitty webcam gutshot...

Maybe I mixed up the sleeve/ring/tip on that side jack? :idk:

The jack looks like it is wired right.

But it looks like you have the battery negative lead connected to one of the LEDs negative side. It should be connected to the Ring lug on the stereo jack.

I think that's just my shitty picture. The battery should be wired to the right joint thing on the stereo lug. The LEDs are wired to the bottom right and I think left points on the stomp switch. I double check inside the box and take a real picture in the morning...

Ooop found the problem...forgot to wire from the stomp switch to one of the jacks... :picard:
So the verdict is dumber than I thought...

Are you still getting that awful pop?

Yeah...I just got around to really checking it today...even took out the LEDs.

The anode is supposed to be wired to the resistor?

And on another n00b note, with resistors GGG says you're not supposed to count the black stripes if they're on of the first two on a resistor. Wouldn't that make a brown black black brown 100 ohm?

Error: Cannot calculate resistor - invalid color bands.
That's what I get when I use this: http://www.hobby-hour.com/electronics/resistorcalculator.php

That's what I said...
But everything lined up when I actually followed the parts list, so :idk: Hopefully teh companion fuzz workz...

For the pop, try putting 1meg resistors from sleeve to tip on the jacks.

For the past couple weeks I've been to busy with school to mess with this, but I'll try that this weekend.

Other n00b question:
http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf ... a841b3e85a

I got what I guess you'd call metal can transistors for Q1 and Q2... I can't read a schematic to save my life, so is that the collector or emmiter that's supposed to be on the bottom of Q1 and Q2 in the wiring diagram? :picard:

It's NPN so the emitter points to ground and the collector points to 9V.
