Behold; The Mother Russia. Now with Bass Demo!

Here's the latest pedal from Noisemaker Effects - The Mother Russia Fuzz/Distortion.
It features controllable gain and fuzz, allowing you to dial in a heavy distortion tone, thick fuzz tone, or any combination of the two.
I designed this with the "wall of sound" tones in mind - From bands like My Bloody Valentine, to some Dinosaur Jr., and others. I wanted to make a heavy fuzz that was still defined and versatile. I think it came out quite nicely.
These are available right now on
http://www.noisemakereffects.com at $80+shipping.
And now for the goods!

Amazing. I'll have a bass demo up later today.

^ i was thinking the same thing. the knobs don't seem to do much. would be cool to just have a volume knob on it or something. that would cut the price down and make it even better value

In conveys better through an actual amp - this was recorded directly via line-in. I really need to get a small recording amp to do demos with...
Fuzz adds a lot more hairiness to the sound. With Fuzz set to the minimum, it's closer to a distortion sound than a fuzz sound. At full fuzz, it's a woolier sound, and much more synthy on leads. The sustain also goes on forever. With fuzz at the minimum, there's far less sustain, and a bit more bite, as it's mostly distortion.
Gain controls gain for the op-amp in the circuit. Again, since it's pushing the op-amp harder, it responds much more through an amp. At minimum gain it's still pretty heavy, but at maximum gain you get a lot more thickness and some more harmonics.
It's also worth noting that they interact well at different settings. But, to go through all of them in a Youtube video would take forever.
As far as a one knob version goes, I could do one if it's really something you guys would want. But, after costs to print a new label, design time for that label, and really only saving a few dollars on parts, the price would be close to the same.

Yeah. I really need to get a decent mic and a recording amp. It would make things a lot easier, and really show the real sound of the pedals with better pick response and actual amp and speaker response.
I'm thinking of one of the smaller Fender amps. A Pro Jr. or something similar. I'll probably do a "recommend me a recording amp" thread in the next few days.
Also, a bass demo will get posted in a few hours. I've been swamped and haven't gotten a chance to get one up yet, but I've got time set aside today to get it going.

Wait, are the demos for any of your other pedals recorded direct in, or are they all direct in? The tone on all the demos is just so perfect

All the videos are direct in - the past few I've done have gotten nothing but complaints though - even secondary demos of the Crush Fuzz, Soviet, and BMF.
Not sure what the deal is, or if it's just Youtube screwing with the quality.

Regardless, the video above does show the textural difference in the tone with the Fuzz and Gain knobs - although not quite to the extent that they have through actual speakers and an actual amp.

Hmmmm.... that's sounds pretty nice. If you're looking for a good recording amp I would go with a small watt tube amp. I own both the VOX AC4TV and the Epiphone Vavle Junior Half Stack and I like them both. Price is pretty good also.

Maybe not something too low watt, because it would break up faster and wouldn't give a true example of the pedal if it's adding its own dirt color. Kinda like what pgs does in every one of their videos. Something with clean headroom is what you want imo.
