I know not everyone here is down with computer based music making but I just thought I'd share these incredible pieces of software with you. They hae been out for a while now but I'm loving em. Both are 10.69€ ($14). Ridiculously good deals with shit tons of noisemaking potential. Mac only though.

There's the catch. Haha. I lucked out and just got a new Macbook Pro through school on the relatively cheap so I've been exploring all the lovely software readily available for cheap and/or free. I've kind of settled on this pair after dabbling in a bunch of different programs. I'll probably get a licence for AudioMulch as well when I have the money. So much fun to be had.

I don't own my own Mac but I made my girl buy BERNA and it's the ISH !!!

I'm makin a drone right now for another thread using hardware, but I'd be using the BERNA if it was here... Be sure to look up a frequency to pitch conversion chart and milliseconds to BPM delay time and your off in drone-space-bliss for hours... Really, HOURS

The GUIs on those look like ass but the sounds are great! Really cool. Here are some ones I like but they're a bit pricey:

I could go on and on... you could drop $1k's on plug-ins without batting an eyelash so I tend to stay away from them!

Instead, I've been working with what I have Reason/Record/Logic Express 9 and some of the above plugs and am quite happy.

I love making music with guitars/guitar pedals and all the computer based stuff. It's all good!

I absolutely love the GUI's on both of those! Its kind of cartoony lo-fi aesthetic. On Gleetchlab you can change the color of the interface via a little color pallet on the top right hand corner. Try the demos. So much fun.

Yeah, I really like the GUIs on Gleetchlab and Berma too. I bought them a few weeks ago. I either use my digital recorder or the program audiohijack to record them and then edit anything good I get later. They have internal recorders too, but with software I try to take measures in case there is a crash.

Le synthé is along the same lines. It's an emulation of/tribute to an EMS Synthi. I've never heard the real Synthi other than in recordings and this is definitely more digital sounding, but it's fun. The presets are labeled A-W alongside the patch matrix and they are really helpful to see what's going on. It's not your traditional synth interface. I'm still demoing it. I got the webcam control working and it was rad, but I can't figure out how to do it again.

Good call on the Synthi. I just paid for the license today. Loving the noises. The demo length of 8 minutes was a bit silly though. I could never build a decent patch in that amount of time.

I got Berma. Digging it.

So GC has the EZDrummer software on sale for $29.99 instead of $150 until the 27th. I figure that with Gleechlab, and Berma should be a pretty seamless electro thing.
