phaser rehouse/mod/repair

So I've got this bitchin DOD 201 phaser, basically a Phase 45 type deal. I love 2 stage phasers. I was wondering if it's possible to add a depth knob to it? Would it be as simple at replacing a resistor with a pot wired as a variable resistor or am I being naive?
Also, it's been having a little problem lately. Sometimes (more often than not) when I kick it on, it's either frozen in the phase sweep, or the rate is very slow regardless of where the knob is set. It last for about 10 seconds, after which it will usually switch into normal operation. Sometimes I can fix it by hitting the switch a few times, but the whole thing is pretty inconsistent.
So basically: is anyone down to do this for me?
I have an enclosure already! And of course I'll pay you.

Shouldn't be too hard for the depth. I've seen p45 depth mods out there so...
The other issue sounds kind of like what my old small stone did. I replaced the switch and it corrected

. Sounds like yours might have something else the matter too though.
I wouldn't mind doing this, just to do it. If no one else wants to helps hit me up.

LFO is probably locking, one of the Electrolytics could be bad or it may need an extra from the 9V rail to the V.Ref to help jump start it.
Univibe Mod for Phase 45 -
http://www.lynx.bc.ca/~jc/phase45modded.gifDepth Mod - See the schematic of the Phase 45, Dry & Phased are Mixed at the end of the effect right before the output cap, the two 10ks, that's where i'd add the Depth Pot.

See? And this is why Scruffs needs to be here all the time. He's like the friggin Yoda of ILF.

Haha, i'm no genius, just good at holding information in my mind, it's just stuff I picked up along the way through others who hold far greater knowledge than I through my own questioning of effects, like the information and debugging of my Bad Stone Phaser Project at the moment

Replace the electrolytics, or send it back to me and I'll do it.

Looking at the schematic, none of them are in the signal path so nbabmf is right (I didn't check as i'm lazy and not around ILF much) In which case, your LFO is locking and I suggest once you've replaced them to add an electrolytic to jump it if that doesn't work...

Thanks for all the help guys, seriously. That's why I love this place.
nbab, would you be down for the whole mod or just doing the caps?

I could do the whole thing. Do you still have my address?

The electrolytic on the LFO was indeed bad. It sounds sexy again... but why stop there?

The print didn't come out quite as clear as I had hoped. What you see on the screen is not always what comes out of the printer when you use MS Paint...
However, I think it works... especially with those knobs!
