Anybody here use expensive instrument cables?

I really just can't bring myself to pay $100+ for a 10-foot cable. Hell, I have trouble paying more than about $40 for a cable.
But I don't believe in "directional" cable, or that cables need a break-in period, or that some of them improve electron flow or any of that marketing stuff.
I'm definitely in the skeptic camp on most audio things. I realize that there is an audible difference between two cables with very different total capacitance. But I just don't believe that beyond quality construction and measurable capacitance-per-foot specifications that there is any significant difference between a $25 cable and a $250 cable.
Anybody wanna argue with me?

I use moderately priced cables, Sommer "The Spirit" XXL. Favorite cable, only thing I buy. It's roughly $45 for 10ft.

No arguing here... I agree. That and the fact that I can build really nice cables than even the live wires from GC.

Let's see...I use PlanetWaves cables...I don't think those are 'directional'....but then again
I have a stash of cheap patch-cables for pedals...but no pedals to connect
I'm still working on that...

After watching all of those GMD videos on YouTube, I was curious about trying those Bullet curly cables...or maybe lava cable..
Do curly cables really give you 'toanz' to die for, like people say?

I have no idea if it improves tone or not, but my God they look badass!

Indeed they do...oh by the way...do curly cables not 'pile up' in a big heap as badly as regular cables?
I have a tendency to accidentally run over my cables every time I go over to fiddle with the amp knobs..
(Let me just add i'm in a wheelchair, to clarify what I just said..)

Umm, they dont really pile up as they stay quite straight (despite being curly, but you know what I mean) They are fairly heavy duty I should think they can easily withstand that

I use whatever I can get. Not usually the cheaaapest but...i like to try various ones to compare. Just recently bought a coily cable (radio shack style, $10) that works fine, I'd prob get another if I needed. I'd like to try some of the nicer ones though. The coilys are heavier feeling than other cables.

I've used Planet Waves cables, if only for the warranty they offer. Haven't had to use it, but nice to know that it's still there.

Live Wires from Guitard Day Care Center since they are easy to source in this gear deficient town. I've been looking for those cleartones that Heavy_Soul shared
I'll probably order a set of those and use the Guitard Day Care Center ones as backups or for home practice.
I use George Ls for custom length patches. I'd learn how to solder; I have the tools, but don't really think I should do that in our apartment and I don't have a man cave.
