Reverend Guitars?

Why is it that Reverend Guitars seem to get no love? Anyone here play one? I always assumed that they were shitty, I think because I read that Kid Rock played them, but I saw some in a music store recently and they seem to be quite sexy and fairly well built. They offer unique body shapes that are neither exact copies nor ass-ugly, and have a wide range of pickup configurations. They also play nicely. What do you all think?

They play pretty nicely, my old college roommate had one.
I really liked how it sounded...I even played it for a few shows. I just couldn't get over the ugly headstock....

I played one of the bolt-on necked guitars briefly at a store, and it seemed like a nice alternative to the Epiphone/MIM stuff at that price point. They have some cool pickup combinations that you don't see everyday. The headstock shape doesn't bother me too much, and it looks pretty cool reversed. Also, my ex-uncle has a signature model with them

those are pretty neat looking. personally i'm not a fan of flame maple and the head stocks kinda remind me of an shitty samick acoustic i had but, they seem to be somewhat forward thinking with out being too douchey. also i would pick up that ron ashton in a fucking second. that's thing looks fucking sweet.

Reverend makes great guitars, as a matter of fact. Their guitars are made of some kind of resonant poly, with a wooden laminate top for looks. Sounds weird but sounds great! I don't know why they never caught on but I've been gassing for one for quite a long time now. The company used to make amps as well... I had the chance to play one a few years back and it kind of reminded me of my saggy 50's Gibson amp, which was very cool. Awesome blues kinda tone, nice breakup. Not good for anything high gain, I'd imagine.
Anyway, give Reverend a try. They're probably not great for metal but if you play anything from Electric Folk/Blues to Alt Rock, you'll probably dig it.

If I'm ever going to buy a flying V it's going to be the Ron Asheton signature reverend.

I really dig the headstocks actually, especially the reversed painted black ones. I like their tremolos too!
