Apart from the different colours, different knobs and the jacks being on the side/top etc., are there any differences between the silver/black version and the red/white version of the grand orbiter? Do they both sound the same?

The input/output buffers are a little different and the sweep is smoothed out a little but otherwise they are the same.

Would one work better on bass than the other?

Holy balls I love this pedal on bass. I have the older version apparently.
With fuzz it makes me want to go on a massive killing spree. The joyous kind.

i copped a used one recently... amazingly wide range - really gets into univibe turf and even a bit of pitch-bendy vibrato and weird Ludwig PhaseII synth type filtering too.
much more than just a phaser.
mine's the older one. looks like they reconfigured the knobs and changed the name of the dry on/off switch.
Is dry "off" the same as the "Vibrato" setting on the new one?

Why dont you make the rate switch into a footswitch? it would be cool to toggel different speed settings with a footswitch.

Look out for mine then

The grand orbiter is the best phaser I've ever heard, owned, etc. and kills in a band mix
but the infanem compact faye sing is calling me and I cant resist

I'm in love with my GO also, i've got the red/white one and the variety of tones is amazing, and even a subtle knob change can make a huge sound change. I also agree with the previous posters that it cuts great in a band mix, and does it well while not completely taking over your guitar signal completely (insert boss pedal joke here).... love it!
