At first glance I chuckled, cuz I'm browsing for a Stingray to replace my old one that I sold a while ago (needed money for a summer trip). But I looked more..and it's my old one! I know those dings anywhere. And I painted the control plate black, and put black knobs on the EQ. Coffin case, strap locks and all.

I bought it for $650, sold it to him for $700, and he wants $1100 for it! He got it serviced, so they probably nuffed up the PERFECT action and intonation I had on it (ZERO buzz ANYWHERE, but not high action by any means). But still! Price-gouging!

"some minor scratches and a couple dings on the top and bottom of the bass"..more than that! They're what killed my resale value! But I got it at such a bargain..

Anyone else ever have that happen? Come across your old bass/guitar (and maybe secretly want it back)?

I've been converted to jazz-widths (and strongly prefer maple)..but it'd be sooo easy to offer what I paid for it, like a smart@$$...

It's also been pointed out that you get a bit of "reflect-o-porn" if you look at the last picture zoomed, at the chrome knob.

I've seen my original Fretless Bongo come up for sale about 6 times...but its been happening on the EB forums with different forumites, so its not that surprising.

That said, its a great time to buy a used Ray. You can easily find a nice one for $850 and oftentimes even less.

i've sold (three years ago) and bought back my studio monitors just last month when i was looking for a pair.
monitors you know are always gonna be better for mixing then monitors you don't know.
the guy was leaving town and wanted to unload them quick so the timing was perfect, and the price worked out to him renting them for cheap for a while.

I also built some MASSIVE PA speakers (using old '60s speakers I bought at a garage sale from a technician who had them as replacements for the subway PA)
they were huge and loud.
I'm really glad I got them back because to me they sound amazing and can handle anything I throw at hem.

I had the inverse happen..

I bought a jag off some dude on craigslist, and like a year and a half later I put it up for sale on craigslist and he bought it back. He was all like "I knew I recognized those dings!"

i sold a jag on the bay and got like 1300 dollars and 2 days later went into a guitar shop and seen it sitting in there with a huge price increase. it jumped to 1700 dollars!!
unfortunately guitar shops here poach most of there guitars off ebay then increase the price and resell in there shop
pretty bogus
