DAW Preference

Working on getting a recording rig together, and I'm stuck between going with something either Pro Tools based, or Logic. Logic seems pretty enticing in that it looks easy to use and you have a lot more options as far as interfaces. Plus the plugins look pretty badass. I've used Pro Tools before as well.
Anyone prefer one to the other? Also, is there any compatability taking logic sessions to pro tools?
Thanks!

Logic FTW. The main reason alot of studios still use Pro Tools is in the name. They'll have client come in and ask about software, and when they hear anything besides Pro Tools the client freaks out.
At least that's been my experience

same here, go for logic. The only reason i can give you is that for me logic is set up more logically.

viewtopic.php?f=149&t=11547http://www.logicprohelp.comI love Logic. I bought a Macbook Pro just for the hell of it a few years back... mainly because all my life I'd used PCs and they were constantly dying, freezing, and generally not doing what I wanted them to (what they were supposed to do). And then I was like "Yeah I'll get Pro Tools and do 'dat." And then a friend of mine said "Dude you have a Mac? Get Logic!" I'd never even heard of it.
I use it everyday now, and it's wonderful. ANYTHING you want to do, you can do it, and easily. I can say much about PT, never used it... but again, Logic is DOOOPE.

Logic is awesome and Logic Express 9 is only $199. However I've been finding myself using Reason/Record for about 95% of my work now because I can get ideas down very quickly. I was a beta tester for Reason 5 / Record 1.5 and some of the new features/devices are fantastic!

+1 for the logic
+1 for Record/Reason
And why hasn't anyone mentioned Live?

Live is good, as well as logic.

This is how I roll:

All I ever use to record to the PC is a wave editor (Goldwave--a crack) and FL Studio 5 (oldshit, also a crack) for mixing/mastering tracks.
Never needed anything else!

I use ProTools exclusively..mostly because it's what I learned to use in the process of getting my degree

which has yet to bear any kind of fruit such as a job.
I have tried Reason and Logic before, but never could really get into them that much..just not what I'm used to.
By the way, Raytownian..those tape recorders look awesome..I dunno if I'd ever be able to figure out how to use them...but dey so purty

I didn't mean to discourage anybody from that particular field..it's just that in my particular neck of the woods, pickings are pretty slim when it comes to audio tech-related jobs.
