lil help?

so here's the deal:
tomorrow i am picking up a noise floor vfm that has been modded with a texture knob AND a starve, which means it functions as a normal vfm + starve + noise + chaos. pretty fucking cool. (kosta/torgoslayer ftw!)
i don't have much experience modding pedals (ok, i don't have any) but i really want to add another switch that can go from vfm to sm and, if possible, gz.
could anybody here give me a step-by-step?
(also, i am sorry for clogging up the subforum with questions.)

Well, you could use a 3pdt to switch between 2 transistors. So, on one end you would have the 2n2907 and on the other you would have the flipped 2n2907 or the 2n222a, like it is in this
http://www.beavisaudio.com/techpages/Switches/ . I don't know how to do three, but I would like to know.

I lot of mods are very easy for beginners to do, so I usually wouldn't discourage someone from trying to do a mod themselves, but this one is a bit tricky. At best it will probably end up really pissing you off just because this mod sounds like kind of a pain in the ass. Switching between gz and vfm isn't too hard to do with a 3pdt, because you just need to switch two legs of the same transistor, but I think for gz you need a whole other transistor in there. You could maybe do it with some kind of weird 3p3t switch or something. Or maybe with two different switches. But the fact that you're working with transistors which are pretty sensitive to heat, and the switching stuff can get kind of tricky, I don't know if this would be a good mod to start out with. If your soldering skills are ok, though, I'd say give it a try.

You'll need two switches or a double pole rotary switch. Both can be double pole, since the base of the transistors always stays the same.
I showed the transistor flip (SM/VFM) mod in this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=151&t=11256&p=134700&hilit=transistor+flip#p134709To add the other switch, put the two transistors on a second double pole switch. Solder the bases together, and put the emitter and collectors on the outer lugs of the switch. Run wires from the common (middle lugs) to the transistor flip switch.
