Tame Impala content.
I've lately gotten into learning all their songs, and I love their fuzz tones.
However, I came across this one, and couldn't for the life of me figure out the effect used at around
1:30It's like a really meaty synthy guitar sound, is there anyway I can get it with a POG2 and Twosome.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could help out

Wow! That song is great. Have you ever heard of the Swedish band EGGSTONE? Reminds me a lot of them.

As for the effect in the song you posted... yeah, there's phase there, but that doesn't seem to be part of the actual fuzz effect. I think the phase is part of the normal chords that I running throughout the song. I have no idea, but it's neat.

Catalinbread merkin!
Or any of those 60's style fuzzes and a bit of modulation.
I'm sure the fix'd side of the twosome could do something close.

A lot of thick phaser -- like a Small Stone maybe -- and sounds like a harmonizer of some kind or nutty digital delay/reverb thing for that metallic noise.
EDIT: Listen to this:

ive seen there boards and recording studio sessions
the lead singer uses 2 ehx small stones, alot of dunlop fuzz face, boss blues driver, alot of vox ac30 action, line 6 echo park
lead guitar uses alot of whammy 4 and pog stuff
bass player uses a wooly mammoth
on the recording they used a space echo i think
there were also a bunch of synths used aswell like micro korgs n stuff
i think it was recorded digitally and mastered to tape
theres a few other things on there board but im just goin off the top of my head but rickenbacker pluss small stone and vox and your pretty much on your way to tame impala

Thanks guys,
I was actually talking about the specific part at 1:30 not the whole song
Not to worry. I think it might be him running his guitar into the microkorg as tuffteef says

an envelope filter can be set to get that sound.
People usually set them to do auto wah, but I know there is one will do that.
no I can't remember which one.

That's a lot of people's census on the subject. I haven't seen any pictures clearly showing it though.

Back up in your ass with the resurrection.
I've become a huge Tame Impala fan thanks to this thread (see my post up there), so thanks!
Regarding the fuzz in question, I assumed it to be a studio trickery fuzz, but then I found this video of them playing the song live, and you can clearly hear Kevin Parker step on something right before the solo that duplicates the sound almost exactly. I know they used a digital multitracker for most of the album, but it seems like this might actually be a stand alone pedal.
What do you think?
