Who's got one or played one before? I wanna try building one, maybe - unless somebody wants to build one for me (I'm looking at your, Stan!

Anybody had any experience with one of these bad boys? What else is out there that can make these sounds?

I also wanna build one. Waiting for a job to fund it. I found a schematic for the Uglyface with an optional LFO.

I have one, didn't build it myself. It's a sick fuzz that can sound like a theramin.

some of the stuff I've heard from that 2525 fuzz demo is similar. I can dig up some tunes I've used it on for you.

Hook up those demos, guys!! :)*
The tonefactor demo of the noisebox that I heard sounds absolutely nothing like the uglyface... i'll look around for a better sample of what that pedal can do.

yeah, similar idea but don't behave that much alike. NB is more synth like to me, while the uglyface still acts like a fuzz and stacks well (with octave down    )

I sold my noisebox when I got the Uglyface, then bought one again and have kept both around.

still looking for clips, had to replace a pot and it's been off my board for a while. I may have to make some.

I don't know if they're similar circuit wise, but they can cop a lot of similar sounds. You can get octave down on the NB by rolling the frequency all the way down. The voice knob can yeild some of those nasty uglyface tones with the sensitivity all (or most of the way down). The coolest thing of the pedal is the ability to get gated on the octave down setting with freq rolled all the way down, or getting gated all the way up. Throughout the rest of the sweet it just oscillates. And your voice knob has a really dramatic sweep from mosquito like fizz to a more muffled sound. And with the sensitivity you can roll it back and make it more straight up fuzz sounds (with a pitched oscillation in the background like the 2525), or crank it and get sounds like the opening filter section of "Convinced of the Hex" on the latest Flaming Lips album. ALSO, if you have your freq cranked, and you roll back the volume you get those 8-bit sounds. Obviously the uglyface has some crazy sounds the NB doesn't do, and I'd like to try a UF. At this point though the NB is meeting my crazy/8bit/synth/oscillation/octave down fuzz needs.

/mini review (and I haven't even gotten to the chaos knob). :yay:
