a/b box switching two guitar for one amp

Is the wiring for a a/b box switching two guitars (2 inputs-one output) the same as a a/b box switching two amps (two outputs-1 input)??

Yes. Every A/B I've ever used could go either way.

Yea, the standard ab box works both ways.
