I've been digging my DMM and M9 for delays, but am getting antsy again and want to try something new. What's the best delay pedal you've tried?

I definitely haven't tried many delays, but I feel like I can cover a lot of ground with a DD7 and an external tap. Yeah it's digital and some people don't jive with that, but compared to other delays it's pretty damn affordable and it definitely gets the job done.

If you're looking for bargain-price analog delay, I dig the Memory Toy.

i really like my deluxe memory boy. it's not crazy expensive, and you get tap, chorus/vibrato, squarewave mode for said modulation, sequenced tap divides, effects loop, and it's analog. it also enables you to add a hi-pass filter to the repeats.

I got the hardwire dl8 and really dig it. the tap tempo is a bit weird, but not a big issue for me.I have a Skreddy Echo on the way and the vids made it sound to die for. Maybe check that out if you feel like waiting.

Best for sweet sound - Disaster Transport
Best for wacky shit - SMMH or DMB

Echoplex.
Failing that DMM or pre-1983 DM-2

For digital, the MIJ DD2/DSD2 with the long chip. it's grungier than higher bitrate digi delays
I've got a Digitech PSD8000 I like too. It's 12 bit I think.

The Retrosonic analog delay is really good too -- it's a DM-2 only better.

But get a tape echo -- there's nothing like it.

I forgot about the DMB. I haven't played one but for the price-to-features ratio it seems hard to beat. I didn't know about the hi-pass filter! That's bitchin.

I've heard really good things about the new disaster transport.. that and the new strymon stuff have been up there on my things-to-get/try-when-I-have-money list.

another one for the DMB... if you plug in the expression pedal and run something through the fx loop it can get real wild... it can also do simple long and short tap with a little mod real nice...

i also use this everyonce in awhile, it's nice and crazy too... can be used as one or two or one into the next each with fx loops and pedal inputs...

Go snag an alesis multiverb and you can have 500 kinds of delay on the cheap for when you get bored with your normal ones.

Between the MB and a TC Electronic D2 I "borrowed", that's basically every delay tone ever. :hello:
