I love the Melxowtone but I missed the boat on both the original and re-issue. Can some one kindly point me in the direction of a circuit that sounds close to it?

I heard from a bird that it's just an electra distortion with one less part.

And this I don't understand. I mean I'm glad some one did because I too had missed the list but it is one of the best sounding fuzzes I've ever come across and I'm picky. On bass it gets the sound I have always been trying to get out of muffs but it has none of the bullshit. I might have to get one of those "MXR" 9V back plates to use in "on board"

Yea, it's the electra minus the emitting cap?

It's been years since Eric mentioned it back on the fuzzhugger forum.

I did that. 9v 4 lyfe. It's definitely one of the best fuzzes i have. It's so simple, SOOOO THICK, but not rippin' you know? it's got the warmest, fuzziest, floatiest awesome fuzz.

True. But you can stack it, every other fuzz I have tried running it through loves the thing.
The only other fuzz I have that is "similar" in sound is a HAO The Roar but still not the same. But the melxowtone plays nicer then The Roar with where it is in your signal chain and use with active basses, then a again it doesn't have "that

" that The Roar has, I have yet to find something that does, I'm not saying it is anything that sets it apart but everything has it's own sound... And that is why I have 4 The Roars....
