be my singer and/or bass player?

Hey all,
I have a rather limited set up in inner Carlton, Melbourne. A small practice amp, thin walls and a host of dr. scientist pedals. I am still learning how to record but it would be great to collab online with anyone bored!
I need some vox and bass for this song, it's pretty straight up... usually I am bit more out there, e.g. daniel johnston, pavement, sparklehorse, grandaddy et al. At the moment I am still sort of mapping out songs before I try to record them well.
http://soundcloud.com/the-side-bets/honey-its-lateI used a shure sm57 mic, reaper, reaper dud effects, dr scientist sunny day delay (chorus on!), proco keeley modded rat. There are about 20 tracks but essentially 3 guitars!!
Hack away and have fun!

I'm playing with vox for this right now... kinda cutesy. Dunno. Will get back to you if something sticks.

Sorry dude... I tried... nothing brilliant came in the first few minutes so I have to get back to building pedals.... love the tune though... a great foundation for a brilliant song.

These are the lyrics I came up with btw... if I had moar time I could flesh them out and make them work but I just don't have time these daze.

Crawl through this velvet underground
To rooms she’s carved out of silk and lace
Jewel sparkle face she screams in rainbows of colors
and you can’t help but stare
Of course there is that one time
When everything made sense and nothing mattered
But you couldn’t forgive yourself for all the laughter
As she choked on the blood of your beating heart cadaver
She wants to know if it’s tomorrow yet, are you ready?
A blue light shines through your window pane, are you ready?
The night is over, no more fucking around, are you ready?
It’s either this or nothing at all, she wants you now, are you ready?
You will lay awake until the sun eats at your skin
Pretend there was never anything here to begin with
A chance encounter in this space time continuum
Lost in dances she focuses her breath in
You gasp for air as the rope strangles your tongue
Lost in words that never would come
Yet you still gape at the site of her light and it’s won
The game is over and you are forgotten
She wants to know if it’s tomorrow yet, are you ready?
A blue light shines through your window pane, are you ready?
The night is over, no more fucking around, are you ready?
It’s either this or nothing at all, she wants you now, are you ready?

whoah!
Love your work devi ever.
I sort of subscribe to the "just get stuck in and see what works". I am into what you have written too.
Take your time, if it works awesome, if not I'll come up with something else

I can fire through the TAB if needed, it's just open chords hammering thin e string (sorry me be self taught). There are two guitars running through the little riff (one electric and one acoustic).
D A Em C (play 3 and 2 on B and E strings)
----2-3-2-----3-2----2-3-2-----3-2-
---3-----3--3-------3-----3--3-----
--2--------0-------0--------0------
-0---------------------------------
----------0----------------3-------
------------------0----------------
The second bit is some notes around d, b and c with some open strings.
-----------------------------------
----------0--3~--------------------
------0----------------------------
-4p/o--4-0--0----------------------
-----0--3--2-----------------------
-----------------------------------

BTW... Tom was kind enough to add a soundcloud tag for embedding soundcloud clips... it's just :
[soundcloud][/soundcloud]
Insert the song url in between... and comes out looking like this :

whoah*2!
so good to get some feedback - bass would be awesome to fill it out. Especially the last section which is just D the whole time. Should give some room to move around.
Cheers for letting me know about the sound cloud thing too

I thought as much.
I don't have a mic, but that could be a corker of a pop song.

I also had future sailors as a ring tone for a good 6 months!!
I don't actually know how to play any lucksmiths but their lyrics resoante with growing up in WA. Nice comparison though, I'll take it!
tbh I am more influenced by Tim Rogers, Pavement, J Mascis and Ryan Adams to name few. Wilco, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes and a few other lesser known but w*nky cool to reference bands as well. I use a lot of dropped G tuning, and just getting to the point where I can re-record all the ideas we have (we have about 150 songs, like the Frogs "all of them good").
This is the first one I have re-recorded with the intention of having a demo.
