Looping pedals

What kind of looping pedals does everyone use? There are quite a few out there and I imagine they're the kind of pedal where the little, fiddly aspects start to really grate on you after a while.
I want a boomerang phrase sampler, one of the original ones, mainly because they seem quite easy to use with your foot, they even have a little volume wheel thing which is pretty cool. difficult to get a hold of in the uk though. I'll probably just get an akai headrush, mainly cause kt tunstall uses one and she rules

She totally rules!
I've always wondered how people have their gear set up to do guitar/bass and vocals through their loopers. Insights?
For simple stuff I just use the 28 second looper in my M9, for more complex stuff I intend to use that together with my EHX 2880.
It's rather stalled until my rehoused MIDI footcontroller shows up, but then it should be ON!
Both are great units.

I use my M9 as well. It's fifty eight seconds if you record in half time. I think a lot of people use the dl4 to loop. I like the M9 for all the various extras it has, like putting the looper before or after effects, high and lo cut, reverse, half time, etc... IRS fun to put the looper before pedals and then just tweak knobs for hours
On end.

For sure! I am planning on using my MIDI foot controller so I can record a loop post effects, then move it pre-effects and re-tweak. (Pitch-shifting to change keys for different parts of songs, adding fuzz and verb to descend into madness, etc, etc.) I know it can be done without the footswitch, but that will make it much more practical.

Headrush is quite the looper. BUT, I realized I never really used loops. So, yeah.

in this video the lovely kt explains how she does it

yeah i can see myself getting one and not actually using it, i hope not though. i'd probably use a lo-fi looper more tbh, but those are quite expensive. if they came out with a vexter version i would definitely jump on it

The trick to using them is to really try and push them in creative ways. It can get boring fast if it's just "play some rhythm, solo over top."
YMMV.

I use the Hardwire delay/looper. 20 seconds of infinite layers.

TBH I fucking hate the way that KT woman does that, I can't stand people that build songs like that.

To each their own of course, but any reason? I'm honestly just curious.

I don't know, I guess I've just never seen someone (besides blooghost) do anything I like in that manner of being a "one man band" (in the pop song format) using a guitar and a loop pedal.

i think you've got to bare in mind that she's a really popular singer in the uk. i can't imagine anyone else in the top 40 doing something even remotely like that

Vid is pretty cool, I don't mind stuff like that.
I don't know about lives performances, but Bloo does stuff with loops and tapping out drum beats on his guitar.

I don't know, what she does just doesn't do it for me.

yeah i know, i don't listen to her music or anything. i just like that someone like her is willing to try something a bit more inventive than the usual pop stuff
