Hell yes...(p90 content)

Hey,

I just sold off my Epi Casino to fund my recording. The p90s thrash will be missed but the guitar was just unusable live with any gain whatsoever. So I'm in the market for a new p90'ed guitar. I found this:

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Les-Paul-Studio-1950s-Tribute-Electric-Guitar?sku=430789

Lookin' good. I was also thinking one of those discontinued LP Double Cutaways in the TV Yellow off of ebay but I'm not so keen on the "worn" feel/look. Any suggestions for a p90'ed guitar???? No SGs though, unfortunately playing SGs give me tennis elbow!!

Yeah man, I'd go for a Les Paul Special. Those things are killer!
You could also consider putting a Curtis Novak Jazzmaster P90 in your jazzmaster's bridge position.

Welp, if you're gonna be punk as fuck, double cutaway all the way.

Otherwise, the studio looks amazing.

man i want a guitar with p90s. not really a fan of les pauls, especially when they have gold hardware, but that one looks nice and at an awesome price. i still want a p90 sg because as far as gibsons go I think they are some of the most understated and slick, both in looks and sound. hard to find a nice one though

Just played a PRS One at a shop this morning, it was definitely a fun little guitar for the rockage. Except for the fact that it need a fret dress; bends all over the fretboard were bumpy or sticky... But the neck itself was wonderful; smooth and a nice thickness. That squier tele with P-90's look nice for the money; you would have some left over over for pedals :thumb:

Love the looks of those new LP Studio 50s. It's about time, I always wondered why they didn't have a lower cost P90 model. A few years ago I picked up an Epi Gold Top (in black) for around $300. Out of the box it needed some work but after a fret dress, set-up, upgraded bridge, bigsby and a set of Lindy Fralins I'd put it up against just about anything out there. A buddy of mine just picked up one of those Tokai Gold Top LPs with P90s and I was really impressed by it, nice fit and finish.

One of these just popped up on craigslist in RI

There are a number of ILFer's in RI (I'm in CT right next to RI so it's doable but not quite as close) that might hook you up :idk:

Aye, its a good combo. Got that with a Curtis Novak JM-V neck position. Best of both worlds. Or, to go overkill, get the P-180:

Totally revolutionize your Jazzmaster with the JM-180, it contains 2 complete JM-90's in a single pickupwith a coil tap to a single JM-90.

Thanks for the offer hclapp, I tend to stay away from Epi's though, just from my personal experience the quality control is always lacking. My friend has a beautiful Epi LP though! So there's a bit of luck of the draw.

Gotta check those Curtis Novak's out but this...

Looks awesome. I have a maple american tele neck I could put on it. I was about to buy a Squire 51 and put a p90 in it then put the american tele neck on it but this seems MUCH MUCH more up my alley. Love the pickguard style.

Yeah, I'm not so worried about the neck since I have this beat up US tele around. I've been trying to find the right body candidate to throw the beautiful neck on. The US's body is just beat to shit. I'm trying to find one of those squires on ebay and I love the blonde finish on yours but all I see is black! Bummer.
