I just saw a Pitch Pirate for sale ($185). The Wow & Flutter comes out tomorrow but its $375 after tax and s/h. I really wanted the Wow & Flutter but $375 seems to much right now. Any ideas, thoughts? I figure not to many people have heard the wow & flutter since it has not come out yet but I would still like to hear what you people think.
What other pedals are similar? My Memory Man Deluxe gets some great warped modulation soundz. I also have my eye on the Seppuku Mind Warp. I love the Sub Octave Synth and the Repeater is pretty cool also.
THANKS This site rules!!!

I have both and they are really different :the pitch pirate is a vibrato/chorus pedal with square and triangle waves and the wow and flutter is a dark delay pedal with modulations, with both you can have weird sounds!
i don't think that the wow and flutter have an LFO,with the wow and flutter you can have more randomn sounds. For me the wow and flutter is more close than the clarinot. The size of the w and f is really big (like a lovetone pedal). They are really different but both are fantastics.

I second that reply, and would add that the one thing I had wanted the Clari(not) to have as a feature was a way to remove the fuzz so it could be used as a more authentic tape warping simulator. Having all three units is just great. :)

I pretty much end up buying every effect pedal that can produce sweet seasick sounds. I recently got the Earthquaker Devices Disaster Transport, which is now one of my favorite delays, and I'm also thinking of getting the Seppuku Mindwarp just to make sure no sound escapes without being properly tampered with.

Is the Wow and Flutter capable of more conventional delay effects along with far out ones? Is it analog?

You might dig the EQD sea machine...it says chorus, but it does some really far out there mind bending pitch bent stuff

I've got a Sea Machine and I have been wondering how much overlap it has with these two pedals.

No experience with the sea machine, but AFAIK the pitch pirate can:
1. do more extreme modulation
2. hipass+gritty preamp ('lofi' if you will)

Though, the sea machine seems to share the PP's other features and then some making it a much more versatile box

Both use a digital delay chip

I had a Seppuku Mind Warp but I returned it because I found it too muddy and dark, and that it ate my guitar's tone. Don't get me wrong, I love muddy and dark, but I also like my pickup selection and volume and tone to come through. Much prefer the Pitch Pirate.
