:lol:

The speaker I ordered for the cab is finally in the mail, I've been using my rectoverb as a cab for the time being :(
I'll really know what this bad boy sounds like within the coming week.

Still trying to dial in a proper rhythm tone, but my cleans/leads sound friggin amazing :love:
It's not as confusing as it looks...you just have to look at each channel as its own amp with seperate controls.

The EQ is VERY powerful...to the point where it appears they dialed back the regular bass/mid/treble knobs to avoid people blowing shit up.
You set the general feel of the amp with the knobs, then sculpt the actual tone with the graphic EQ.
I decent break down I found is:
gain=gain
treble=more gain/saturation
mids=feel/saturation
bass=tightness (less=tight, more=loose)
presence=treble-ish

I can get a decent clean and some crunch without the EQ engaged, but it seems if you want anything to have real balls the EQ needs to be on.

I don't know if you're just gassing for a mesa or the mark V specifically but if you want to go the cheaper route I would suggest going for some thing out of the DC series. I own a DC-5 and it effectively ended my amp search. The DC series has some of the best cleans of the early mesa amps and his distortion sounds like a hybrid of mark and recto territory. Mine has the graphic EQ and two completely separate channels plus thy can be had for about $500.
