Anyone know what fuzz can get close to the sound of the song Plume by the Smashing Pumpkins? I kinda see the ibanez fz-7 as getting around the area of that sound, at least from the bits of sound clips I've heard. Any other fuzz suggestions?

Devi Ever 25/punch love->Soda Meiser with texture rolled back.

You can replace the 25 with anysort of boost/overdrive with good high end/trebles.

Thats the best way I've found to get the sound with one guitar. In reality if you listen to the recording it's a super dull muff tone. But the treble boost->Soda Meiser does a great job of capturing the mood of the song. Plume is one of my favorites. :joy:

i get it to sound good with my muff's tone knob at about one o'clock, i feel like the bass frequencies dominate that song

The fist thing I thought of was the old Ibanez OD-850, but those are pretty hard to find.

It definitely sounds like a muff with low sustain going through a dirty tube amp, which gives it that crunch.
I did see this demo the other day and it sounds pretty close to that (although I don't know how to get those):

Don't forget the Maestro Phase Shifter for the solo.
