Anyone up for an online drone collabo?

So yesterday I've decided that I need to boost my musical productivity.
Since there is not enough time to start a real band and I mostly record drones I thought I'd ask. We could send wav files to each other, add other tracks, effects or mix the whole thing. If anything good come out I say we do a limited run of CDRs with a cool cover and send them to anyone who will pay for the shipping. What about that?

I haven't left the house in almost a month because it's taken me that long to get my car tire replaced (which I still haven't done)... but I'm totally game for this.
both of these things. a drone collab and some tape swappery (especially if we can get some 4-track owners involved).

Well you should get a 1/4" to 1/8" converter, and plug directly into the input. Just for the easiest way...
However, if you have a good mic and a mixer you can run the mixer into the computer. Then use some recording software using the mic in or line in as your signal.

You mean for ripping cassettes to your computer? They make stereo, dual male-end, 1/8 cables so you can do this w/o any plug adapters.

what would the cassette swapping work like?

tape swapping is a bit of a challenge to do without either a 4-track recorder or at least a couple decks from which to use the source tape as a backing track to your own sounds, both recorded to a second deck... or alternately, two decks, one to play the original tape (processed through pedals and shit and fed into the second deck).
either way, I'd be happy to send a 4-track tape to somebody else w/ a 4-track... one full of WANK and SHIT and NOT MUSIC because I can't do anything else... like, physically and mentally can't do anything else.
Finally got my car to the shop yesterday, so I'll probably be able to mail shit soon.

Dude, I can sooo sympathize with that.
Same with me!
I'd be up for that. I don't have a 4-track recorder, but a normal tape deck would probably do too, don't you think? I'd just record it to my computer, remix it or add some snot of my own or both and then mix it down to stereo and back onto the tape with all that shite.
