The M9 is pretty awesome

Aside from it being of interest modelling like every vintage fuzz ever(well, no scrambler or fender blender :( ), it can do some pretty cool sounds.

You can do some crazy stuff with the expression pedal:

I concur. Any slight quibbling about tonal quality of the modeled effects is more than than compensated by the sheer insanity of things you can do with those expression pedals. I'm running 1x EB vol and have a This1sMyne http://www.this1smyne.com/product_list/products/mfe-mini-fixed-expression-pedal/ on its way shortly. Woot!

I actually like the majority of the effects in there too. Can't seem to eek out a good chorus sound, though I am particularly picky when it comes to this.

I absolutely love mine. It's great for modulation, reverb, and delay. Not so much the fuzz. The Tubedriver and Tubescreamer models are rather usable though. It's definitely a keeper. It's great to have when you want add a some frosting to a recording. The particle verb and octo verb are worth the price themselves. I feel like I've just scratched the surface with mine. I've probably only taken advantage of 30% of its potential.

Anyone have experience with the JHV3 mods?
http://jhv3.squarespace.com/m9-mods/

Interested in feelings about bass in particular, but would appreciate all input.

Zombithread.

That said, I'm glad you resurrected it because my M9 switches are pissing me off on account of the squeakin' and a-poppin'.

No experience on those mods, but I would like to hear the fruits of your research/experience.

:snax:

I have been strongly considering getting one of these:

yahp. i missed mine after i downsized to an m5, found a deal on a pre-modded one. has the JHV3 volume, the cleaner audio path and new footswitches. i took the time to a/b a bunch of patches before i shipped out my m5. the dirt still sucks balls, but all patches that i enjoyed seemed to pop a little more. while it was slight, i could hear a difference.

the switches not being board mounted are WAY worth it to me. that shit scares me. they feel bettah too.

^tnx!

Also, would like to know if the line6 FVB express MkII would be suitable to midi control 4 loop functions and 1 expression function at the same time.
Googled the hell out of it, but couldn't even find anything useful on the line6 pages.
And throw me an alternative to the FVB MkII if you know one.

It seems like it would/could be. Personally, if I were going to add a controller for the looper, I would want to have enough buttons to map more than 4 commands - making it so I could control it completely without having to leave the effects menu. The compact size on this unit is nice though...
