Pitchbend wheel in pedal?

Is it possible to install a pitchbend wheel into a pedal such as a fuzz or maybe even an octave, like one on a synth?
...or a joystick...
I'm not familiar with them at all but I think it would be fun if you could especially with oscillation.

If you were using a MIDI guitar it would be... otherwise sadly no I don't think so... pitch bend is a bitch of an effect with guitars, it can't be done in analogue realms (well, atleast) and even in digital realms it's complex, you could buy some form of Pitch Shifter pedal and then run the pot into your guitar but use a wheel to control it instead but that's a fairly complex job.
My best suggestion would be a Kaoss Pad though.

Joysticks are used for pedals quite a bit...dwarfcraft devices will get you started

Oh... if you don't want it to actually bend pitch then yeah, that sorta thing is easy (although I think pitch bend wheels are DSP based not resistance so you'd have to find something resistance based... or use a joystick as Jero said)

Yeah, I know they are used and everything, but I was leaning toward the pitch bending as someone said.
Oh well.

afaik pitch bend wheels are just a spring loaded knob on a pot. by friend had soem gutted from a broken synth and it was jsut a pot with soem extra mechanical housing. similar to analog joysticks... jsut pots with a nice mecahnical interface etc.

He wants it to actually bend pitch, not simply replace a pot.

gunna go ahead and be the devils advocate here just to give a heads up. while pitchbendings a nice idea ive yet to hear a pedal which actually does it in a way which is pleasing to the ear. pedals with a second octave hidden behind like the octavia and stuff can sound sick but whammy pedals and that kinda thing have always sounded horrible to me. then again, theres a couple pro musicians who do get nice noises out of them but if youve never tried one out before be aware that youll probably find yourself using it a LOT less than you figured you would.
