Since it is a '94 Jag, the body is made of Basswood. I don't know if that would change your decision, but I'm not a huge fan of Basswood bodies. Still, it's a Jag and it looks awesome and probably plays well regardless.

That's a pretty good deal. Be prepared to buy some pickups and a mustang bridge for it though.
You won't regret it though. Jags are the best.
Check out offsetguitars.com there's a lot of very smart, experienced, informative and overall nice guys on there

My CIJ Jag was $550 with a hardcase... I feel that's around what they should be.
Craigslist it my man!

That's a decent deal. Anywhere between 500-600 is fair. Be prepared to plunk down another 100 for pickups and another 30 for a new bridge (or file yours down if you use heavy gauge strings). Basswood bodies kind of suck, they are heavy, not as resonant or mid rangey but I have a MIJ Jag, so I guess I should keep my mouth shut. But yeah, get those pickups out of their IMMEDIATELY, they suck and aren't potted or shielded so they squeal like the dickens, on top of being shitty sounding.
+1 to 1,2,3 Pull Out and +1000000100101010101010000002 times infinity to the Nick Cave avatar.

Is your MIJ post '95? If so, then the body shouldn't be Basswood. It's Alder.

Ah yes...great guitars. Have a mid 90's white Jag. Don't discount the stock pickups so quickly though..mine are the sheeet..and all stocked up. I threw a 3 way toggle on my pu switching system though..easier and opened the tone up a bit.

Get it. I really don't see any reason to swap out the bridge though, it may ring, but you dont hear that when plugged into an amp.

Bit OT, but the title of this thread would be a kickass band name. And, yes, with the question mark.

Yep, and don't put a stupid buzz stop on it either. That thing should be called a buzz-kill.....

maz91379 wrote:mastery bridge vs $30 mustang bridge? how much should a secound hand avri go for as well as after swapping pickups and shielding stuffs and doing other miscellaneous setup stuffs is there that much of a price difference?
It depends on the pickups and excactly what you do to it, but overall it won't alter the price that much. I'd say around $1100-$1500
