People get to pick their own pronouns now, Torquemada.

They/them as a singular pronoun is older than you might think, older than the word "you" even. :idk:

But I'm not here to reopen this argument again, but instead to link to the new Banananana effect.

Sorry y'all, didn't mean to be cryptic. I was joking that they were substituting "they" for " we"

Whoa, I have been looking for a OG Tararira. Will definitely try this new version but still will be looking for the OG because of the size. Had been playing with an Arpanoid and either I'm not understanding something or it just isn't suiting me.

Well, I wasn’t really trying to accuse of anything, so I hope mine didn’t read as actual judgment.

really nice to see such wholesomeness on a gear forum :)

I just don't understand these. In terms of sound, I'd give these a 9.5/10. They're clean and punchy without being too sterile or glossy. What I cannot condone is the 3-octave keyboard or the seemingly mandatory external editing. If I'm going to spend $800 on a digital platform that requires a computer for editing, why wouldn't I just get another soft synth and some world-class effects? The 3-octave KB is an absolutely useless addition for me. That's an uncrossable line, and I'm not even a serious, technical player. You've got to go keyless or offer a 4-to-5 octave option. Who are you pleasing with 3 octaves? That's a bad compromise. If I'm going to be required to look at a monitor to edit the synth, then why would I go for software, masquerading as hardware, needing external hardware and software for maximum performance. That's the most pointless concept ever.

Modal is one of the few companies making music products, that I actually wish would charge more. The small screen and unfavorable knobs-to-features ratio are shortcomings that can't be ignored. No complaints on the sound from me---the FX sound excellent, and there's a lot of potential for sound design and cinematic/ambient applications. For most companies, the features and the concept are the hook. Then the audio leaves you disappointed. Modal is on the other end of the spectrum. With Modal, the sound is quite appealing, but the supporting features are just so poorly conceived.

i feel the same way about this... my only guess is that it's aimed at the same people who buy the OP1 as their main synth?

Hello, can anyone point me to some wild speculation about what the CBA-Zvex and DBA-Earthquaker collaborations are going to be before they get announced on Tuesday?

I'm assuming the former is some combo of the lofi junky and fuzz factory, but no idea on the latter aside from there will probably be a fuzz component.

This one gets me excited in the way that the matryoshka did. I see a ton of potential there.

I not too into things that arp, but that's one of the coolest looking pedals I've seen in a while. Hoping he runs with that design and color scheme on future works. :snax:

Me too. I love his older designs sonically but micro pedals are unusable for me, especially when they have like 8 knobs on them!

I would probably guess the same thing for zvex/cba collab and I'm excited at the possibility of a fuzz factory in a chase bliss format. I'm expecting the eqd/dba to be something wild! Either way, I'm excited to see what they are...

That teaser of the CBAxZVEX collaboration sounds like a fuzz factory with a filter control.

Would've loved a lofi loop junky + blooper collaboration tbh. The ZVEX degradation on the real time and loop junky pedals is still remarkable IMO.

I’m actually pretty tempted by the zvex/cba fuzz factory. The Fat Fuzz Factory’s been my planned future backup pedal for when my beloved Wolf Computer eventually dies (assuming I’m unable to find another Wolf Computer).

There are like 10 parts in a Wolf Computer and they're all readily available. Easy repair job if it breaks.

the thing I like about Zvex pedals is they have a little unpredictability. I'm curious to see how they will work together and make something!
