You know.. if memory serves this bs is Joe Perry's fault.. I remember in the 90's Guitar Shop [the only actually cool guitar mag.. that was then killed and turned into Premier Guitar ] Him showing off a gold glitter LP that he had gibson drill holes in the back and filled with balsa wood plugs... for tonez...

swami john reis has one or two LPs like that, too

gross. My LP has the ultra modern future technology TM amazing weight relief IE is mostly hollow because they're lazy and can't find gud wud, and I love how light it is. But at least Gibson had the good grace to hide all that shit INSIDE the guitar.
