Need some quick advice. I'm looking to mix it up a bit and a dude offered me an MIA Fender P bass for my Warwick. I'm not sure if it's a fair trade or not. He has upgraded Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups. Not the best but still good. Here's pics in case anyone is interested.

Tough Call.
You could probably sell the Fender quicker on TB. Too bad it has a few dings in it.
I wouldn't like the color or the pickguard, but people that like red would dig it.
I haven't played a real P Bass in a long time. What I hear is that P Basses sound kind of boring by themselves but sound good in a band mix.

How dare you!

My main bass is a MIA P and I love it. I am enjoying the MM Sub though... I don't know if it's worth the trade. To me it's a good, solid bass that has lasted the test of time. Everyone has one though.
EDIT: I do like the color but don't like the pickguard at all. I tend to like different colors though. My P is "Metallic Purple". Everyone is a little different...

Get That GameChanger JWAR, keep your eyes on the prize, Sell the Warwick, Sell the Classic, get the last bass you need. I figure that I am about 2 years out from a GC.
I was just being brutally honest WP. I would rock a MIA P (if I had to)...
Don't worry, some people would dare to rip on my bass because of it's looks. I don't care, goods good to me, and plays great (Big Al 4 SSS).

Best advice ever.

You can do it man! Patience JWAR. You'll get that GC.

Oops! I was just kidding and after reading it, boringly obvious. I may not have come across that way (the kidding part).

I do like the P-Bass. When I put my Bill Lawrence P-46s in it I liked it even more. That said, it's not for everyone and not very exotic.

If I'd stop spending money on damn pedals I'd prolly venture out to see what else is out there...

Really....the quality is amazing, actually. And I'm used to higher end pedals like the Timeline....stuff like that. They're all the old guy effects you'd see people using on TB, though, rather than the cool stuff circulating ILF. It'll need A LOT of tweaking to get the sounds I was getting from the Tremolessence and Faye Sing. But I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the sound. Even the OD.
There's an OD setting that sounds EXACTLY like the B3K. Totally. Not processed at all. Picture perfect sound copy. So cool. The fuzz sucks ass. So my Megalith and the more fuzz voiced OD pedal (Swell B-PEG) are totally safe.
I didn't have much hopes for Guitar Rig 5, to be honest. Figured Ableton would be more.....modern....I dunno......but I need to get my hands on a copy of Ableton Live 8.
Double post so it doesn't get lost...
Any latency? Does it seem pretty straight forward (Runnign through a computer) or is it going to take a little bit to get dialed in? How do you switch between effects. Sorry if these questions are stupid. I am dumb.

Haha....yeah....I was at work so I couldn't go back to page 660......
I haven't delved into it much at all. The latency is at 13ms but that's with just plugging it in and playing. I'm sure I can get it much lower if I try. The laptop is currently with my tech friend....stripping it of bloatware and anything unneeded (pretty much everything) and expanding the RAM from 8GB to 16GB.
As for the switching effects....I'm using this guy as my audio interface/midi controller:
http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... ontent=346So it all feels the same.
It is REALLY straight forward. Guitar Rig is, at least. Can't speak for any other software. Super easy. And I'm a bit of a tard with the complex multis. I REALLY wish this controller had knobs on it like the Maschine controller so that I could tweak parameters just like on a pedal. That would be super nifty. I'll suggest they do that when they upgrade the controller. As for right now, all the knob tweaking is done on the comp. It's pretty simple to use. The interface makes it look like a massive rack rig. So it's stuff we're all comfortable looking at.
Oh....and jwar.....
Status.

Well, we had the meeting last night. I almost feel silly for having worried. He was totally cool with it and supportive. He understood, and agreed that his heart hasn't really been in it for a year or so now. So fuck yeah, problem solved.

The best part is that you forced that conversation on him.
And it's only illegal in some states. Most of the time, it's just a misdemeanor, too.
